Books For Cooks

Notting Hill in London has become a fashionable neighborhood and one that the residents are proud of. One of its famous landmarks is the Books for Cooks bookstore where more than 8,000 titles are available. There are not many specialist cookery bookstores in the country and this store is an important part of the community.

Founded in 1983 by Heidi Lascelles, the current owners are Rosie Kindersley and French chef, Eric Treville. The business is so much more than a store and the owners and staff provide a service that goes beyond selling books. Customers enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and friendly welcome. They can browse the books whilst sitting on a sofa and take a break in the café at the rear of the shop.

Since 1995, the store has hosted cookery classes and workshops in the Books for Cooks demonstration kitchen. One of the teachers is co-proprietor Eric Treville and he is joined by talented cooks from Japan, Italy, the USA, the Lebanon, India and England. Some of these cooks are also respected food writers. Participants on the courses receive a recipe booklet pertaining to dishes on the course, a glass of wine and lunch or supper. The classes cover a wide range of subjects and the most popular ones are presented on a regular basis. Books for Cooks courses include cuisine from different countries, cooking techniques, how to entertain and cooking for Christmas.

The books on the shelves are not confined to recipe books and there are also titles on the history of food, food themed biographies, nutrition and art, sociology and chemistry books relating to food. Fiction with food as a subject is also available. Customers also enjoy the gourmet posters and cards. For anyone not in the London district, they can still obtain Books for Cooks stock. Books can be ordered to be delivered anywhere in the world and there are lists that compile specialist subjects to choose from.

The menu for the café changes every day and dishes are prepared with fresh produce from the nearby Portobello Market, a famous tourist attraction in the capital. The resident chefs try out recipes that appear in the books on the shelves and introduce them to the menu. The recipes that have proved the most popular have been placed in a series of Books for Cooks cookbooks with tips on how to make them. They are currently available in four volumes. Books for Cooks is a celebration of good food and can easily become a home from home!

Cheap Christmas Gift Idea

It's that time of year again! The holidays seem to creep up, and before you know it, it's Christmas and you're still decorating, baking, and looking for the perfect gifts. All this costs money, of course, and you may find yourself running short on funds before the end of the season. Having little or no money for giving gifts this holiday season doesn't mean you can't give something thoughtful and nice. If you're the creative type, gifts you make yourself are the absolute best, and will be remembered for a long time to come. Give your talent, time, and personal expertise to someone who would really appreciate it in the form of a coupon book, a great cheap Christmas gift idea that you can tailor specifically to the recipient. It is the thought that counts after all, not the amount of money you spend.

For most people, money is tight during the holiday season, so what can you buy when you don't have a lot of extra cash to spare for gift giving? If you like to plan ahead, shop throughout the year to pick up potential gifts at sale or clearance prices, then be sure to keep track of what you buy and for whom. This is also a good way to spread out your gift expenditures so that you don't have to spend all your money at once. Websites like Overstock.com, eBay, and Amazon are also great places to find exactly what you're looking for at the price you want to pay. When shopping online, it’s best to get what you want when you see it; otherwise it probably won’t be there when you go back the next time, especially as it gets closer to Christmas

Lots of great but cheap Christmas gift ideas can be found online, if you're having trouble coming up with something on your own. Check out these inexpensive gift ideas for the holidays like having a family portrait taken, a memory that will last forever. It doesn’t have to be taken by a professional photographer either, which will also save you some money. Other great gift ideas that won't put your checkbook in the red include hand-made food items or gift baskets, and hand-made craft items like crocheted scarves, mittens, or some other exhibit of your personal talent. Even if you don't have the knack for making your own gifts, you can come up with something that’s both inexpensive and heart-felt. Just set your budget and stay within it, and have a joyous holiday season!

Direct Advantages of Email Marketing

Email marketing is a wonderful way to reach large amounts of customers in a short amount of time. This is a very inexpensive marketing method that is effective. It will result in getting more traffic to your website thus generating more sales. Email marketing can be used by any type of business regardless of the products or services they have to offer.

One huge advantage of email marketing is it can be effective for both large and small businesses. When it comes to regular commerce, the larger company can afford to print up colorful fliers and ads. This is much harder for smaller businesses due to the expense. Email marketing can be done using software so that even small businesses can create effective and professional looking email marketing campaigns on a small budget. This will hopefully help them increase their sales.

Email marketing is an effective way to deliver the information you want to get to consumers in the method they enjoy using. Most everyone has email these days and it is common to log on and check for messages several times each day. It also allows you the opportunity to reach consumers around the globe. There are no boundaries when it comes to location with this method of marketing.

On average email marketing costs 78% less than other types of marketing. This savings is after the cost of research, testing, and sending the emails. It also takes the cost of consulting into consideration. Email marketing consulting is often less expensive than other marketing consultants. This means you can choose to save money or maybe invest more but reach more people. In addition to saving money, you save valuable time. Your emails can be scheduled to go out at times when you are out of the office or working on other projects.

To appeal to your consumers, email marketing allows you to use graphics, games, music, videos, and other types of materials to gain their interest. This is something most other marketing concepts don’t allow. Sure, they offer one or two choices but it seems like everything is possible with email marketing concepts. Since you have the name and purchasing history of the individual, you can personalize the email. This makes the customer feel more trusting towards you as well as more loyal to the company. It is much better than getting a piece of mail at home that says dear customer. You will be able to create marketing lists that allow you to send a marketing campaign only to a target market. This is a very effective way of sending different campaigns to different customers.

The process of email marketing gives you tools for measuring the successful of the marketing campaign. You can measure the click through rate, conversion rate, find out how a person linked to your website, and many more ways of analyzing data.

Customers can choose to opt out by clicking the link in your email marketing campaign. This saves you money by knowing who isn’t interested in receiving your information. There is no way to know that with other types of marketing campaigns. For those who are interested in your email marketing campaign, you will see the responses quickly. This is a great way of knowing what is effective for future marketing endeavors.

Software Downloads

Between online computer deals and software downloads, your average computer stores is not all that necessary in this day of incredible convenience. Don't get me wrong – there are some times when a trip to the electronics store is the best way to getting something done. If you need a part right away, for example, or if you can't find downloadable software to fix a particular problem. More often than not, however, a software download can remedy whatever problem you are running into.

There are software downloads for almost every possible issue. You can get free software for word processing, free online games, PC utilities to fix computer glitches, online virus scans, and whatever else you might need. You name it and you can find it online.

Nonetheless, you have to be careful when downloading software. It is easy to run into something that looks like legitimate software, that is not. The same technology that makes it so convenient to download programs online can also make it easy for hackers to attack your computer. If you are careful and use your common sense, however, you can pretty much guarantee that your software downloads will be safe. Nonetheless, it never hurts to run a virus check on them first. After all, as the old saying goes, better safe than sorry.

There are different kinds of software downloads. Some of the most popular programs online are actually freeware or shareware programs. These ones can be used for free, and even sent on to your friends if you feel like it. They are often programmed by hobbyists who do it in their spare time for fun, or to make a dollar or two whenever someone sends them contributions. Nonetheless, some of them are quite powerful programs. Some of the most important programs on your typical Windows machine – such as WinZip for example – are actually free software downloads. They are not made by Microsoft at all, but by other companies that give them away.

Of course, there are also trial versions of commercial software available online. A lot of companies are actually switching to software downloads as the primary means of marketing software. Anyone who wants to can come, download software from the website, try it out, and then purchase it online with a credit card. Nothing could be simpler and more straightforward! It makes the companies a lot of money, and it gives the consumer an added degree of convenience. All in all, it is a good deal for everyone.

Job Searches

Once you step into the "real world," you soon realize how difficult it can be to acquire a job. Notice that I didn't say find a job. Heck, anyone can find a job; there are tons of them to sort through. The trick is actually getting hired over everyone else. This was my reality after I finished college. For some bizarre reason I thought I could enter the work-force with guns blazing. There was no stopping me, for I was college degree man. That certificate was going to get me a stellar career. Haa, life doesn't work exactly this way. In reality there are plenty of college graduates out there for employers to choose from. So I looked and looked until I finally obtained my first writing position. My secret to finding this position was the websites designed for job searches online.

It used to be the local newspaper, word of mouth, and HELP WANTED signs posted in windows. Or, I guess I should say that's all it used to be. Now we have cyberspace. This is a virtual dimension loaded with engines built for job searches. The truth is you won't find a better place to seek employment opportunities. Newspapers are not obsolete sources, but they're seriously limited. Online you'll have access to a much broader area. Basically the entire planet. That certainly beats your local city. Depending on where you want to live, you can do job searches for any state you choose. Narrow the location down by city if you prefer. Some of the larger employment search engines to try are Careerbuilder.com, Monster.com and Craigslist.com. Personally I prefer Craigslist because it's more well-rounded. There are all sorts of job positions and gigs listed daily.

Most websites that allow job searches are free for job seekers. Employers have to pay a fee to post, but you don't have to pay a cent to browse. You can even list your resume and let the employers come to you. This is a very effective way to get their attention quickly. Especially since they're searching for the right candidate just like you're seeking the right job. Be sure to perform job searches online daily in order to find that career of your dreams. Updates are regular on the web. Finding a job just got easier.

Investing Money While In College

Investing money while in college is not a priority for people. After all, most folks are busy just trying to keep up with tuition payments and general cost-of-living expenses. Nonetheless, investing in college is possible. I know – I was one of the first people in my school to do it.

I was pretty inspired by some of the economics courses I was taking. I was learning all the investing basics I would need to know to get started, and I suppose I thought I was smarter than I really was. I was interested in all of it – real estate investing, currency speculation, futures – pretty much anything I could read about. I assumed that I would get rich overnight. I was a smart kid who thought I was a genius.

There were definitely a few unexpected lessons for me. Some of the investments I made were not very prudent, and I definitely lost a little bit of money before I made and it. Nonetheless, I learned quickly. I knew that investing money while in college was a difficult and dicey proposition, and I learned to budget appropriately. Soon, I was definitely starting to take in some cash.

When I told my economics professors that I was investing money while in college, they were understandably impressed. They were skeptical at first, but once I explained and showed them my investment strategies and how they were starting to pay off, they could see that I was taking my lessons to heart. One of them actually even took a few investment tips from me. It was a great time for me, as I was enjoying the respect of my peers, my professors, and my good friends. I even thought about majoring in economics for a while.

Eventually, it got a little bit too stressful. Although I had enjoyed investing money while in college, I needed to concentrate more on my work. I made the decision that I would give up my short-term investments for the next couple of years, and put the long-term ones in stable funds. That way, I wouldn't have to worry as much about them. I did not end up majoring in economics, choosing instead to complete a course in history. As soon as I finished college, however, I definitely started up a healthy sideline in investing again. I do not take in a huge amount of money, but it is a great supplementary income. Life has been good to me so far.
Here is an investment opportunity that could make you a lot of money.

Online Advertising Campaign

The online advertising campaign with sound strategies and good planning spells success!

During the early days of internet access, it was a far easier matter to compete, mainly due to the relatively few number of websites. Today, if you hope to successfully compete with literally, hundreds of thousands of competitors, you've got to have a well planned and strategically sound online advertising campaign in place before you ever publish your website. If you've got all your ducks lined up, you'll get traffic directed to your site sooner rather than later. Maintaining your site does cost you money. If you're also paying for ads, the income you derive won't add up to much without sufficient traffic. The time you spend planning your online advertising campaign and developing the best strategies for your product or service will pay you big dividends, decreasing the time between launch and profits. Let's take a look at how you can customize your advertising campaign to your advantage.

Google is used to conduct searches for approximately 75% of all net surfers. So it makes sense to make your website Google friendly. Google freely offers detailed information on how your website is ranked, how the spiders work, good links versus what Google deems spammy, along with a wealth of resources which show you how to increase your visibility. In fact, there's so much information, it will take a while to go through it all. On the other hand, what you'll learn will help you tailor your strategies for a successful online advertising campaign, which makes it entirely worthwhile. Think of all your competitors who neglect to make this thorough investigation!

For example, we've all seen websites which have advertisements which are completely unrelated to the page content, trying to sell you cell phones, gadgets and books on a page with an article on obtaining a mortgage. Perhaps the website owner figures if you can buy a home, you can thus afford these items. However, search engines will penalize you for irrelevant advertising. Target your ads to each page as the product or service pertains to the interest of the reader. Google's AdSense program uses a variety of algorithms to 'read' the content of your page and match your page up with ads of likely interest to that reader. While you can certainly add affiliate program ads, using Google AdSense drives traffic and revenue to your site far more quickly. This single element can give your online advertising campaign a hefty jump start.

Everyone knows that linking is important to a well planned online advertising campaign. What's not so well known is that the quality of the site you're linked to impacts your rankings. The search engine spiders are pretty darn sophisticated these days, so be choosy when you select your links. If the spiders detect that most of your links within text are click-throughs to a potential sale, rather than information of value to your reader, you'll take another hit in the rankings. The spiders may even exclude that page from future indexing.

It's most important that you do your homework and find out what helps and what harms your search engine ranking. If you don't, your online advertising campaign may become a failed campaign, putting you back at the drawing board with no profits in sight.

Publishing some of your content in relevant e-newsletters with high readerships is another excellent technique for any online advertising campaign. When you're brainstorming for new ideas, always keep 'relevance' and quality' in mind. Then watch your profits grow!

Learning About Music Copyright Law

So who doesn't want to get their songs played on the radio? And who doesn't want to win a Grammy award someday for best original song, or best album, or best new artist for that matter? But for those of us brand-new in this business, there's just a whole lot to learn about music copyright law. Now that I'm trying to write my own songs, I guess there's no better time to get an education about the ins and out of this rather nebulous arena.

Learning when and where music copyright law goes into effect is the place to start. Since the first writing I did was just penning new tunes to two- and three-hundred year old hymns at church, I didn't really have much to worry about. I was using lyrics that were public domain (sort of like "Happy Birthday" -- when it's public domain, you can sing someone else's tunes or lyrics without winding up in jail), so I didn't have to worry about protected rights. Using these types of songs and lyrics is the way to go for beginners, but I've advanced beyond that point now. I'm trying to write my own stuff, and I don't want someone else getting credit for it, which is why I needed to find out how music copyright law works.

Music copyright law protects composers, publishers, and arrangers from having their work stolen or tampered with in any way. In essence, United States music copyright law guarantees that the creator/owner of the original material has the exclusive rights to that material as long as they're alive, plus 50 years! For songs written before 1978, the decided-on time frame is 75 years. That way, the creative folks that penned their own songs and lyrics get all the credit for them, as well as any monetary gain from their sale or broadcast. It's a pretty terrific system, if you ask me.

The best way to protect what you've written, what some call your "intellectual property," is to register what your songs or lyrics with the appropriate government agency. A good attorney is really worth your time in this regard, even if it's just in the capacity of advising you on how and where to start. The web is full of resources and references for music copyright law, including some well-known sites that can give you step-by-step information on safeguarding your work, all of which can be done online. And you can find attorneys who specialize in our business (that's where I found my lawyer).

So I'm glad that I did a little bit of homework, and I'm hoping that when Steven Spielberg decides to use what I've written as the soundtrack for his next summer blockbuster, I'll be ready to sit back, relax, and watch those lovely royalty checks flow right into my mailbox!

Investment Opportunities

One great way to make some extra money and to help save money for retirement is to find investment opportunities. There are some risks involved, and that means a smart investor must be intelligent about what is going on and where they decide to put their hard earned money. Some investments are going to be a bit risky, and others are safer. Research is essential before committing to any type of venture, and as always, common sense should not be clouded by visions of dollar signs.

Some of the best investment opportunities will come through someone who knows where to find them. If you have someone helping you invest your money, you can usually count on them to present you with good investment opportunities. Before accepting anything, however, it is important to really think about the size of the risk, and the offer. Does it sound reasonable? Investing in hair spray for cats might not be very smart, but investing in real estate on sought after land might just be a great idea. Not only should you think about the idea, you should also think about the state of the economy and current trends in buying.

You may come upon some great investment opportunities online such as franchised home based businesses ( like this one) that require a small investment. The monthly subscription may not be very much, but you should use the same care when doing so. Some are going to be fabulous, and some are nothing more than scams. Again, listen to your gut and really consider each possibility for what it really is. Those behind investment opportunities are often great salespersons. They may be telling you the truth, but you have to realize that the best salespeople may be up to no good. Anyone that will not give you time to think about it or is very vague with specifics is someone you want to avoid.

Another thing to remember about investment opportunities is that some of the ones you will find will be risky, and what you want to risk should be given heavy thought. Even some pie in the sky type ideas do pan out, so never dismiss anything without thought, though I do think cat hair spray would be on the list of ‘no’ right away. A smart investor will always find ways to split their money among investment opportunities with different types of risk. The safer ones are always great, but there is nothing wrong with taking some risk. Just don’t risk more than you can afford to lose.

Internet Addiction

Is there such a phenomenon as internet addiction?

Strange as it may sound, it's true. The internet, with millions upon millions of sites to see, can easily become an alternate reality. One link leads to another and before you know it, hours have passed. You may have started out your net session with some serious purpose, researching a health topic or locating information for a term paper.

You decide to take a short break to visit your favorite message board. You find a response to one of your posts from one of your online friends. The response really gets your dander up, so you fire off a quick response. The responder is also online and shoots back with another message. Again, before you know it, dinner's burning and the kids are after you - "When's dinner?".

Does this situation qualify as internet addiction? If this scenario arises once in a blue moon, no. However, in most cases like this, it's a regular event. Once you're on the net, you find you've got to tear yourself away to tend to business. If surfing the net interferes with regular responsibilities, or keeps you up until the wee hours such that you can't get up in time for work, you've got the dreaded internet addiction.

So prevalent is this phenomenon, there are now institutions and support groups dedicated to curing this brand new addiction. You may be shocked to discover that people are paying money to be rehabilitated from their internet addiction.

If you suspect that you're creeping up to addictive status, or already there, how do you recognize the signature characteristics of internet addiction? What steps can you take on your own to wean yourself from excessive stints on the web?

To answer the first question, if you've got internet addiction, your surfing adventures take priority over other mundane, but necessary tasks, such as doing last week's laundry, fixing tonight's meal or helping the kids with homework. Do you become annoyed when someone tries to get your attention while you're on the net? Do you spend hours playing online games, leaving poor Fido to his own dinner devices? Chances are, you've got internet addiction.

Now, what to do? You really don't want to let dinner burn, or have nothing for the kids to wear tomorrow. Not to mention Fido making off with the meat sitting on the counter. Curing internet addiction requires a disciplined approach and establishing proper priorities. Here are a few clues to get you clean.

Establish certain times of the day or evening when the net won't interfere with work and family responsibilities. Let's say you do housework for an hour in the morning and on Saturdays. Pencil that time into your calendar. Homework help is nightly, between 4:00 and 6:00 pm. Mark it down, along with all regular tasks. What's left is when you fit in net excursions.

Yes, it's all easier said than done. However, it's doable. Buck up. Get up an hour earlier than usual, or fore go your favorite TV program.
Yes!

Healthy Weight Loss Is Best!

There are many reasons why people want to lose weight. Most of it is because they do not like how they look, and they want to be healthier as well. Each person goes about losing weight in their own way, but some do not do it the right way. That can have a very bad affect on your health. Even if you only have five pounds to lose, you want to find out about healthy weight loss so that you can get it off, stay healthy, and then keep the extra pounds from coming back.

Healthy weight loss starts with healthy thinking. If you have a hundred pounds to lose, you may feel overwhelmed with what you are going to do. You have to think in smaller steps. Set goals for ten or fifteen pounds and celebrate when you get to those spots. Just don’t celebrate with food! Though you can lose a good amount at first, make sure you are not crash dieting. You are going to do your best right off the bat, so don’t be discouraged if it slows down. Weight loss that is good for you is going to be slow and rather steady.

Those that have just a few pounds to lose are the ones that tend to forget about healthy weight loss. They look for things that they think are going to work the fastest no matter how bad it might seem. The last five are very hard, and if you are trying to fit into a dress for special occasion, the urge to bypass healthy weight loss for something quicker is very strong. Try to resist and do it right. If you have to wear something, be realistic about your size and take things slow.

What most don’t know about healthy weight loss is that this is the very best way to keep those extra pounds off months and even years later. If you crash diet, you are going to go right back to your old habits as soon as you are done, and you may gain those pounds back, plus some within a few weeks or months. If you go about a healthy weight loss program, you are going to be more likely to carry those good eating habits with you long after you are done with your diet.

Some eat nothing for a few days, some drink nothing but juice for two weeks, or they eat something like grapefruit almost exclusively. You should know that these do not constitute healthy weight loss. Limiting yourself so much means you are going to rebel and you are going to gain everything back. A good healthy weight loss plan will allow you to feel good about what you are eating and good about yourself - and is going to allow you to remain balanced and strong. These are just as important as the weight loss.

Healthy Eating Habits

Are You Sure You Have Healthy Eating Habits?

We all make mistakes when it comes time to eat the right things in the right ways. The biggest problem that most have is that they do not have the time to cook as they wish that they could, and they take the easy route by going through the drive-thru at some local fast food joint. Though that does save time, and the food tastes good, it is not doing much for your health. This is okay once in a while, but it should be the exception rather than the rule. It is important to develop healthy eating habits that are going to stay with you and your kids for life.

What you may not realize is that you may not have healthy eating habits, even if you are avoiding the drive-thru. Many times, the things that we get from the store are chosen because they are fast and easy. That does not mean all of this stuff is bad for you, or could not be incorporated into a healthy eating habits, but you do have to be careful about what you choose. Look for things with natural ingredients and the lowest amount of additives and preservatives.

You don’t have to take three hours to cook dinner if you want to develop healthy eating habits. What you don’t know is that you can mix some pre-made items in with some homemade items to have a really great tasting and immensely healthy type of meal each night. There are many books out there about healthy yet quick meal ideas that you can use each time you are running short on time and energy. Many of them incorporate health eating habits, and that is exactly what you want to look for.

You may cook each night and think that you have healthy eating habits. What you have to do to find out if that is really the truth is to see what each part of your cooking patterns include. Do you know if you are using the healthiest oils when cooking? Are you use any fresh vegetables? Does your meat meet your health qualifications? Are you hitting all of the major foods groups with each and every meal? If you can answer those questions, you can fix what is wrong and work towards some really great healthy eating habits for you and your children.

Healthy eating habits are the hardest for those that are older and have been eating the wrong foods for a very long time. They are so used to certain foods that they don’t think they are going to like anything else, and they don’t care to try. What you can do to encourage healthy eating habits at this time in life is to slowly add new things to the others that they already love. You can also find healthier ways to cook those same things. You want to change things slowly but surely for the best results. They may not even see what you have done until they are eating and feeling better.

Pay Per Click Programs Online

There are all sorts of nuances in the 21st century. Many of these wonderful things are related to the World Wide Web. Take advertising for example. While this used to be quite tedious and expensive in the past, it no longer has to be so time consuming and pricey. If you own your own business, you can take full advantage of the Internet in order to advertise at a low cost and appeal to a rather massive audience. After all, isn't this really what attaining substantial business is all about? The only difference is now days you can use pay per click programs.

What are pay per click programs? This is an excellent question, and an important on is you have your own business online or offer a service you would like to advertise on the web. Pay per click programs basically allow you to place ads on a variety of websites (like this one) that apply to what you have to offer. So if you have a business that focuses on selling skin care products, you could essentially have advertisements placed on all sorts of websites and blogs that are focused on skin care and beauty. This way every time someone spots one of your ads, they have the option of clicking it and going directly to your website or web store. So, now you're probably wondering how pay per click programs make their money. It's simple really. Each time someone legitimately clicks on an ad, you pay the pay per click program a certain amount of money. Fortunately you can choose how much you wish to pay for ad clicks. In the end, the program earns money and the individual with the website that offered your ad earns too.

One of the major pay per click programs is Google. If you haven't heard of Google adwords, this is a wonderful option to take advantage of. Imagine how many potential consumers would suddenly see your business or service online. This works great for businesses that offer products for sale on the web. Consumers can be directed to your site and you can make the sales. Some other programs and websites to consider if you're interested in pay per click programs are payperclickpros.com, payperrankin.com, esourceagent.com and quigo.com. Check these out and learn more about modern pay per click programs and which one may be suitable for you and your business.

Generate Traffic to Earn More

Do you currently have a website of blog? If the answer is yes, then you know that it's essential to generate traffic as much as possible. Unless you're not using your web pages to earn in some way or another, traffic equals money! If you're working with ad revenue, more traffic means more clicks. If you're into affiliate marketing, then more traffic equals more sales through your web pages. You get the picture. However, the reality of generating more traffic is not quite as simple as the notion itself. There are certain steps that must be taken in order to successfully generate traffic to your website or blog.

Anyone that plans to generate traffic should remember that consistency is key. If you fail to be consistent, then you will surely have difficulties pulling in more traffic to your sites. It's a daily process that requires devotion, effort and time. Then again, on the bright side, there are wonderful ways to generate traffic loads of traffic for free. Think about all the discussion forums you encounter on the web. If you take the time to examine a few, you can leave feedback behind with your links. Just be sure you comment in forums that apply to your niche or niches. Naturally you want to generate traffic that relates to your intended audience. When you leave your backlinks, forum regulators can easily be redirected to your blog or web pages.

Free-Money

Everyone likes free stuff, and for most people free money ranks at the top of the list. Who wouldn't like to get something for nothing? Still, usually this is easier said than done. If you could get money free, no one would work a job! Still, if you're willing to exercise some creativity and fly by the seat of your pants a little bit, there are some great opportunities out there which allow you to make a decent living for doing almost nothing.

One of the best free money deals out there is volunteering as a research subject. If you don't mind having strange medicines tested on you, you can make a lot of money for just hanging out in a hospital. Some of these tests are outpatient, but the really well-paying ones have you stay there for more than a week at a time. You can make hundreds or even thousands of dollars, get free room and board, and be paid to just chill out in a hospital bed. Things don't get much sweeter than that!

Filling out surveys is another almost free money opportunity. Like medical experiments, the opportunity depends a lot on where you live. If you happen to be located near a university or in a major city there will be survey taking and focus group opportunities galore. Even if you don't, however, you can probably get in on it over the Internet. Taking online surveys is really easy, and you can make a few bucks on it. Like many free money schemes, there isn't always a lot of cash in it, but you do get something for little or nothing.

Another great free money opportunity is being a secret shopper. A lot of people like this job because for them it doesn't feel like a good job at all. Basically, you get paid a small stipend to go into a store and buy stuff. You pay attention to how well they serve you, what kinds of things are happening in the store, and how well it is run in general. Then you report back to the store's owner or to some central company. I suppose it isn't technically free money – I mean you are being paid to investigate a store – but if you like shopping a lot it will feel like it! It's the sort of job you can do on a day out with your friends wandering around downtown. You get a free meal or some clothes and a little bit of spending cash besides!

Bargain Books

Great bargain book finds for the book lover

If you're like me, you can't ever have too many books. You're always on the prowl for a new book, even when you're running out of bookshelf space. However, this is a hobby that can become quite expensive. Here are some tips on finding bargain books that are truly bargains, not just poorly written books that no one else wants. Some people shy away from inexpensive books, fearing it's just a waste of money. On the contrary, bargain books can be a bonanza of wonderful reading, at a fraction of the cost of regularly-priced books.

The true book addict typically accumulates exhaustive libraries on their pet subjects. Let's say you love to cook. There are thousands of cooking titles relegated to the bargain book bin which are culinary treasures you may have trouble finding on your neighborhood bookstore shelves.

For example, do you know there are books on medieval cooking? Any gourmet cook worth their salt must have one or two of these in their collections. You'll find out all about medieval table settings, history and lore, in addition to some quite unusual recipes popular at the time. Food preservation was a problem then, so the seasonings used were devised to help preserve foods as well as please the palate. This book is on the bargain book shelf only because there aren't so many readers who are as well educated and curious as you. Snap it up because it may soon be out of print.

You'll find that many bargain books are those covering obscure topics which only the true bibliophile craves. Online, the large book dealers, like amazon.com have thoughtfully categorized these bargains for you to browse any topic to your heart's content. The book collector can discern enough from the information provided to know whether the book is a treasure or a flop.

Other terrific sources of bargain books is the local library sale. Most libraries usually have a book sale once a year to make room for new collections. Often, these older books are sold by the pound! Here, you can freely browse the entire book and find true bargains. Make sure you arrive early for the best selection.

Brick and mortar bookstores always have a selection of bargain books, displayed on tables in separate sections. You can find some great deals here. Sometimes, the cover of the book has been marred by a printing house error. Perhaps that book cover on French baking shows a plate of croissants that appear burned to a crisp due to a color error. The average book buyer will instantly pass, thinking the recipes within can't be any good. You, knowing the ropes of bargain book buying, can pick up that tome of baking heaven for $5, rather than paying the list price of $35.

You book lovers, rejoice! Bargain books can fill out the most esoteric library in no time.

Advanced Google Search

Google is a great Internet search engine, but sometimes it is hard to find the web page that you're looking for. With the number of web search engines out there and the number of indexed web pages on the Internet, it is no wonder that it can be hard to get an accurate search. Learning how to do an advanced Google search – one that will get you the results you want without pages and pages to scroll through – is an art as much as a science. It isn't just a matter of choosing keywords to search for, but of thinking like a web designer.

One of the best tricks I ever found for advanced Google searches was to think exclusively. In other words, you want to do an Internet search that will rule out all the pages that you aren't looking for. If, for example, you are looking for a particular friend with a common name, you search for his name along with something only he would know. You can search for a phrase that he might include in his blog, the name of his street, or something else that is unique to him. Don't spend a lot of time looking through each search either. Look for the first page or two and, if you don't find that friends, try another advanced Google search. You can always come back later and digs through pages and pages.

This brings me to one of the most important lessons I've learned about the advanced Google search: if you don't find something in the first page or two, you probably aren't going to find it. There may be several hundred Google pages out there of results, but many of them will be simply around to divert your search and try to get traffic from you. You can usually tell because the sites have lists of keywords that pop up when you do a search engine query for them. They might, for example, have long lists of common names, or links to all sorts of expert websites to make them look like they have information that they don't really have.

Although many people prefer to do an advanced Google search, a lot of folks like to use another tool: meta search engines. Unlike advanced Google searches which only look through one search engine, meta-searches look through several or even dozens. They then compiled the data to get the best search possible.

Here is my web portal. You don't have to do a search.

Sharing the Spirit of Thankfulness with Children

Thanksgiving is a time for being grateful for the abundance we have in our lives, and to encourage the giving spirit towards others. It is the perfect time of the year to take the opportunity to teach children to start thinking about the important things in their life that they are thankful for. A perfect Thanksgiving activity is to encourage the giving spirit in children by collecting and donating canned food to a local food bank.

For children to understand why we celebrate Thanksgiving, share the history of this special holiday with them. For young children, I like the story Thanksgiving is… by by Gail Gibbons. Older children can read the story of the First Thanksgiving by Jean Craighead George. The Pilgrims held the first Thanksgiving celebration after their first harvest in 1621. The Pilgrims were so thankful for the abundance of their harvest that they invited their Native American neighbors to join them in their three-day feast.

Thanksgiving in America is celebrated on the fourth Thursday in November, and Canada celebrates Thanksgiving on the second Monday of October. Thanksgiving celebrations usually include a huge family feast. With the abundance of all this food on the table, encourage the spirit of thankfulness with the children. Another special Thanksgiving activity includes the family taking turns sharing what he or she is thankful for.

A treasured Thanksgiving activity is starting a Thanksgiving Family Journal. During the family gathering on Thanksgiving Day, each family member records what he or she is thankful for in the journal. Add a page that lists the celebration, the names of the guests, the menu, and any other special activities that you did on Thanksgiving Day. Take photos of everyone at the dinner table and add to your journal to create a memory book that you can bring out every year. Each year add the new holiday celebration. This Thanksgiving Family Journal will be treasured for generations to come.

How To Market A Product

Five easy steps to successfully market a product on the internet

We'll begin by assuming that your product or service is of high quality and has intrinsic value to your customer. Your product is ready, but are you? Many a website has suffered an ignominious demise, only because the owner didn't do the proper preparation in marketing. Here we look at five basic, but essential components of how to market a product on the web.

1.Define your market. This may seem obvious, but many people neglect this step. You cannot assume that everyone on the planet will find your product useful. If you use the shotgun approach as a marketing strategy, you're effectively shooting yourself in the foot. We'll look at a service as our example. A service is also a product, in that you are providing a product which saves your customer time and money. A service can be a bit more tricky to manage, but you can apply the methodology to a product as well.

Let's say you want to know how to market a product which takes care of small business accounting needs. Your market is finite, but still huge. Your audience is small to medium-sized businesses, which perhaps have a website, but lack the means to record and store sales data adequate to their needs. There are some costly, big-name packages that do the job. You want to target businesses which can't afford a big-ticket service and are therefore open to yours. Explore every niche business and compile your specific audience.

2.Develop your advertising campaign. You'll learn much about how to market a product on the net when you devise an array of advertising strategies. Visit sites which provide advice on various marketing strategies In the case of our sample product, you might do well to provide feature articles to an e-newsletter focusing on small business issues. Contact the Chamber of Commerce in major metropolitan areas. Always remember to expend your advertising efforts by 'writing to your audience'. Use free advertising venues, as possible and spend advertising dollars judiciously, to reach the greatest number of your potential customers.

3.Make sure you deliver your product or service promptly and securely. Many would-be marketers get shot down here. No matter how much research you've done in developing your advertising strategies with your eye firmly focused on the best methods on how to market a product, if you can't or don't deliver, all your effort is for naught.

4.Keep your communications open. Respond to customer communications as quickly as possible. This builds credibility.

5.Get some links and content going. Have plenty of free content on your site which gives your visitors information they can use. The more links you have pointing to your site, the better. Take a look at this site. It has lots and lots of products and services, plenty of links and great content.

Follow these basic guidelines on how to market a product on the net and you'll achieve success!

How To Write An Ebook

In many ways, writing an e-book is not any different from writing any other kind of book, but there are a few important distinctions that you should keep in line. Most of the people who want to know how to write an ebook are motivated by the profits. In a lot of ways, the market for or ebook writing is a lot different than the market for more conventional kinds of writing. Basically, you need to do it faster and with less expense because you can't really expect to make as much money. The upside is that it doesn't necessarily need to be as well written. writing quick ebooks on a specialized area of knowledge can make you a lot of money, even if they aren't up to the standards of conventional publishers. People want the facts, and they want them now. They don't care as much about artistry.

That doesn't mean that there isn't any points to learning how to write an ebook artistically. There is no rule saying that this type of book has to be published online and that type of book has be published in print. More and more authors are publishing electronically, even if they are the type of writers who do fairly conventional prose. Online fiction is a growth area, and you can do it in a pretty conventional manner.

Nonetheless, there are a few strategies to how to write an ebook that will help fiction writers as much as anyone else. You see, writing online gives you access to certain tools that other writers don't have. It is easier to get critiques from your peers, to think about your audience and research it, and to make rapid revisions. The Internet gives you access to an entire worldwide community which can help you learn how to write an ebook and successfully carry out your literary plans. Taking advantage of this available community is what separates the good authors from the rest.

Still, many of the basics of how to write an ebook are unchanged from any other style of writing. No matter what sort of book you are writing, you can expect to sit down for a long time and hammer it out. The biggest part of writing is simply putting in the time and dedication, working on it hour after hour, day after day until it is done. Whether you are writing ebooks, novels, literary nonfiction, or anything else, it requires the same sort of dedication.

Writing Activities

You don't need to be a professional writer to enjoy and benefit from writing activities!

Everyone writes, just about every day of their lives. Whether you're making a store list, writing an email, a memo or a book report, you write. Professional article writers spend all day in writing activities. It's a way of life. However, the average person thinks that writing on an ongoing basis is reserved for professional writers, never giving a thought to writing for pleasure and the therapeutic effects to be derived from writing. Even if you don't generally enjoy writing, there are writing activities you can enjoy. There are many therapeutic benefits and you will improve your writing skills along the way.

Writing is, unquestionably, good self therapy. How many times in a day do you find yourself biting your tongue when someone says or does something that annoys you? Probably plenty! During adolescence, you may have kept a diary, where you poured out your frustrations to dear diary. Maybe your grammar or spelling wasn't perfect, but you certainly felt better after getting your gripes or secret thoughts down on paper.

Much like the adult version of talking to a therapist, you gained the satisfaction of venting. “There, I've said it!” People never outgrow the need to vent. Unfortunately, many adults believe that such writing activities must be put behind them. Child's play? No! The only difference between dear diary and a journal is the moniker. Get yourself a notebook and practice putting your daily thoughts to paper. Don't worry about spelling and grammar and the technical aspects. You'll be amazed at the beneficial effects this simple activity brings to your state of mind.

No matter what your level of writing skills, there's always room for improvement. Better writing skills can make a big difference in your career, grades and how people perceive you. Communication is everything. If you can't communicate well, people are less likely to understand your message. One excellent writing activity that is fun and profits your communication skills is to increase your vocabulary. Use your dictionary to find just three words you don't know. Read the definition. Now use a thesaurus to look up that word and find other words which are similar in meaning. Now, write a sentence using that word. From the thesaurus, choose a few similar words and write a sentence for each of those. You'll discover that these words are usually not interchangeable. Now your vocabulary is larger and you can use these words in your daily life to more precisely convey your meaning.

Let's say you don't particularly enjoy writing. Before you discard the idea, keep in mind that, in dear diary or journal mode, it's for your eyes only, unless you choose to share. Try writing a children's story. Remember how much you enjoyed bedtime stories when you were a youngster? Kid's stories are short and uncomplicated, yet highly entertaining. For ideas, think of your favorite childhood book. Why did you like it so much? One or more of the characters probably fascinated you, made you laugh or otherwise held some appeal that captured your attention and devotion. Dream up some fanciful characters and tell your own story. If you like to draw or are good with computer graphics, make your own illustrations. You may be pleasantly surprised at the results of this writing activity.

Writing short stories or fiction pieces can be very rewarding. Follow the old adage, 'write what you know'. Every one has some expertise in a subject. Pick yours and go for it.

Be aware that such writing activities can be addictive! Once you start, you'll find the pleasure you get is hard to give up! Your writing skills will show up in your more ordinary daily writing, such as emailing a letter to a friend, writing a class paper or even a business report for work. With practice, you'll also develop your writing style.

Whatever writing activity appeals most to you is your best starting point. You may well find yourself looking at free online writing workshops designed to improve your writing. Next thing you know, you might just look forward to your next opportunity to write!

Income Opportunities

Finding Income Opportunities At Home

You should always find a way to follow your passion. Some can not do this for their day job, but if it is at all possible, this is the way to go. Those that can not do that often find a way to do what they love in their spare time. What they don’t realize is that they can work it out so they can make at least some money doing what they love, and that this can blossom into something that they can do from home, in their own time, and it can pay the bills if they put enough energy and enthusiasm into the project.

Some stay home out of choice, and some just can’t seem to find work. Some are staying home to raise kids, but want something more when the children start kindergarten and they don’t have to focus so much on the kids during the day. Those are usually the ones that start looking for something that they can do from home. Income opportunities sometimes come to them through a hobby, but some come as a bolt of inspiration. Many great things were invented solely on someone sitting at home, thinking about a problem, and then deciding what could be done about it.

If you want to find income opportunities through your passions, you have to think realistically about what those hobbies are. If you love collecting insects, you may not have much to go on, though you could teach somewhere that would have you. However, if you are an artist, there are many things that you can do. Those that draw find income opportunities through freelance illustration jobs. Those that love the written word can find freelance writing jobs both online and offline. If you have another type of hobby that involves the arts, you can try to sell what you make, or you can try to become an instructor somewhere, even from your home.

Income opportunities will come and go. Some thrive and some fail, while others are great and some fizzle out early. The point is not to give up on something that you love. Most can find a way to make it work in one way or another. Even when economic times are tough, and people think the income opportunities are not out there, you should keep looking. Here is a fantastic home income opportunity. Don’t be discouraged if you really want to do something. While I don’t always believe that anything is possible, you won’t know until you have given it your best shot, and then some.

Free Articles

Are Free Articles The Best?

If you are getting into building web sites (like this one) to make money through one of the many advertising programs that you can find online, you know that you have to have content to get people to come to your sites. Some people can write their own, but it does take a while to get enough on the site to draw traffic. There is a formula that a good article follows, and this is not always something someone understands, or can learn how to do. There are some considerations you should think about if you want to go out and find free articles for your web site.

There are some great free articles out there that you can use, but there is one huge drawback to this. If you can find and use the articles free of charge, so can anyone else. If you have the same content on your site as someone else, you could be penalized in the search engines rankings. If that happens, you are not going to come up in a search, and your traffic will dwindle, if you have any at all. This is not always a problem, but it is something you should consider when using free articles.

If you choose to use free content that you can find online, you may have to take some time with it. You don’t want to cut and paste it as it is. Get some free articles that you can use outright and ones that you can modify. That means you have to rewrite at least some of it so that it does not come up as an exact match to something someone else has on their site. Be careful not to mess with the keywords when you do this. Find other ways to reword the articles just enough to pass a Copyscape test. Be choosy too, as badly written articles are not the best choice. Do not, by any means, use any material that is not specifically labeled as free to use for anyone, as you could be infringing on someone’s copyright.

If you find that free articles are not what you need, or that they are not working for you, you can find some services online that offer you content that you can not get anywhere else. There are some that custom write articles for you, and some that have a huge bank of them that allows you to pick and choose what you want to put on your web site. The price is often well worth what you get in return in the way of traffic and sales. Some even use a mix of both paid and free articles with great success. Experiment to see what works best for you.

Create a Blog

Many individuals who surf the World Wide Web may notice an increasing number of weblogs popping up in their searches. The weblog, or blog for short, is a relatively new phenomenon that has hit the Internet by storm. While you may have come across many of these sites, you may not know that it is very easy to create a blog of your own.

There are many reasons that you might want to do this but one of the most prominent driving forces is the ability to make money. Another reason is to backlink to your other websites. Here is an example. There are many people who create a blog in order to keep an online log of their personal thoughts and ideas. However, the drive to make a second income out of blogging is very appealing to many.

The first thing you need to do is create a blog to begin with. There are a few options available when it comes to the process of building your own weblog. The first thing you need to consider is your specific needs as well as the different hosts available that can help you create a blog from scratch.

I love Blogger. This is a great site for the beginning blogger who wants to get her feet wet. This host is accessible and user-friendly. You do have to become acquainted with html to get details like links in your template but overall, Blogger is a great place to start when you create a blog for the first time.

Myspace is another very popular venue. This online organization gives you everything you need to create a blog. Many younger individuals love to use this popular site because it is a great tool for sharing ideas and thoughts on the Internet. Just as the name suggests, Myspace offers you a way to make your own little space on the World Wide Web.

Both Blogger and Myspace are user-friendly and they offer a wonderful sense of community. You can even write a post about anything that confuses you about your weblog and chances are a friendly visitor will leave a comment pointing you in the right direction.

While I love these two sites, I personally chose Wordpress when I decided to create a blog of my own. This site is very manageable and each blog gets a dashboard that shows the site’s stats. Each day, you can see which posts were the most popular and you can see which keywords led people to your site.

When it’s time for you to create a blog of your own, try checking out these resources but don’t forget that there are plenty of other options available as well. There is something out there that is ideal for your blogging needs.

Healthy Body Image

Learning About And Getting A Healthy Body Image

If you watch television and think that most of the women you see are just far too thin, you are not alone. What is even more amazing is that as thin as they look, they are really thinner than they appear. The camera really does add ten pounds. Models tend to be thin too, and that, along with other things, are showing our little girls that they are just not good enough. That is not true - but that is the message that they are getting. You have to work hard to ensure that your daughters, and even you, have a good and healthy body image.

What you may not realize is that a healthy body image starts when children are very young. If you are walking around the house complaining that you feel ‘fat’ and if you are always skimping and not eating meals, they are going to pick up on this in ways that you may not understand. Children think their parents are perfect and beautiful, and if you are showing them that you think you are not good enough, they are going to think they are never good enough. That means they are never going to have a healthy body image even when they are older.

You have to monitor not only what you do, but what your children are seeing on television, in print, and even through their friends. You can’t keep them from seeing most of it, but you can make sure that you talk to them about it. Once of my favorite sayings is that ‘real women have curves’ - but you can use whatever you want. Those that are on TV and in print are not realistic and are not what most feel comfortable with. They should be thinking about being healthy for better healthy body image rather than fitting into a size 0 or 00.

If you find that you are having problem with talking to your kids about healthy image, you can do your best to model it for them. You should talk about healthy eating and exercise if you are not happy with your own image, and if you are working towards a lower weight. If you put too much emphasis on it, they are not going to learn good things about how to find a healthy body image. Keep discussing it to a minimum, don’t talk about ‘dieting,’ and work activity into your lives. That is the best way to go about it.

What is hard about healthy body image is that it can be very hard to counteract the bad messages children are getting no matter how hard you try. What you want to do is to try to show them that confidence is the best way to go, and that no matter what your body size, you are going to be attractive if you feel good about who you are. Healthy body image and healthy self image are two different things, but they can complement each other. Go at it from all angles for the best chance of helping them love themselves no matter what.

B2B (Business to Business) email marketing

B2B Email Marketing

B2B (Business to Business) email marketing is a bit different than B2C (Business to Customer) email marketing.

If your email marketing business focuses on products and services that are only of interest to other Internet marketers or other online
businesses, you need to be certain that you are not over-doing your
email marketing letters.

Business oriented people see email marketing as a tool that can be useful but can also become not useful and even intrusive. People who are operating businesses online are extremely busy people.

Each day their email in boxes are full to the point of overflow. They have a monstrous number of requests and demands on their time, effort and energy.

The marketing emails that you send to those who own their own
Internet businesses or who work as purchasing agents for online businesses will not be amused if you send them long epistles extolling the advantages of a product.

They will be even less amused if you send these long emails
everyday or more than once a day. These business people do know how to find the opt-out button and they will find it and use it.

Marketing emails that are sent to online businesses need to be extremely short...no more than 200 words. They need to make the point quickly and they need to be very easy for the recipients to SCAN...they will not be read...they will just be scanned.

Use bullet points. Make your case for their need to buy your product and how it can save them time, effort, energy or make their jobs easier in some way.

How your product can increase sales for the company they represent or increase sales of the products they sell themselves will also be noticed and possibly acted upon. All others will be deleted!

Email marketing

3 Ways to Sell to Your List

There is an old saying that I don't particularly like but one that is applicable here, “There is more than one way to skin a cat.”

(My cat doesn't find that old saying very amusing.) The idea is, however, that there is always more than one way to do anything and still produce the desired outcome.

Email marketing is one of those things that can be done more that one way and email marketing lists can be used in different ways to achieve the desired results (selling products and services).

1.Prepare your list for an upcoming product launch or event. You can create some anticipation about an upcoming product launch or a teleseminar or webinar that will be happening in the future.

This is known as a “pre-sell or up-sell”. Start by telling your list about the product and begin to tout its advantages.

For example: at the very bottom of an email marketing message you
might put one bold bullet point about the upcoming product or service.

Your email message will still only cover one product or service, as it should, but you can start getting your list prepared for the new product or the new service or an upcoming event.

2.The actual email marketing message for each and every product, service or event that you send should be short, concise, clear and easy to read and act upon. These are the messages that you regularly send to your list.

3.Use your email marketing newsletters to educate your readers about products and services that you provide.

The better informed your customers and potential customers are, the
more likely they are to buy or continue to buy from you.

Information is a commodity that you can provide for free but that will provide you will more future income.

So here's the deal. The World-Wide-Web has taken over the planet. Most of us would literally have trouble functioning on a daily basis without it. I'm one of the millions. Heck, I do all of my work via the Internet. But that's not the only reason I've become so attached to cyberspace. With constant online access I can send messages through email, search for products I'm interested in, find rare information, IM friends, and even check the status of my bank account. These days you can even sell online (see example). And I really don't care what it is you want to sell. Chances are someone will purchase it from you for the right price.

Americans love yard sales, or garage sales. Which ever you prefer to call it. Think along the lines of this basic concept. Now apply the same reasoning to online auctions. You can sell online and possibly get more cash. Probably not with all things, but definitely with some items. I have the perfect example. One sunny Sunday morning a few years back, my wife dragged me out to a yard sale event. I call it an event because it was like an entire neighborhood selling all at once. Low and behold I spotted something that caught my interest. This really never happens for me at yard sales. So you could say this was a rare occasion. The item I found was an older Randall custom knife. This guy has been making fine knives down in Florida for years now. In fact, he is one of the original greats when it comes to knife making. Needless to say, this piece was worth some dough. The guy selling it had it priced at 50 bucks. Hmm, sounded good to me. I bought it and took it home to sell online. I slapped it up on a knife auction and it bid even higher than I had expected. I made almost 400 dollars on that custom knife. I naturally thanked my wife for taking me.

The finer items you have tucked away in a storage room or your garage, you might consider placing them online, as opposed to moving them at a routine yard sale. Chances are you can sell online and receive a higher bid than what someone will offer on your lawn. People who go to yard sales never want to pay anything! Let the web assist you.

Ebay has become all the rage in recent years. Ever since this massive websites began, people can't say enough about the fun and excitement of Ebay. However, Ebay is not merely about buying at low costs. This web company is also about making sales, sales and more sales. Are you ready to sell things on Ebay and rake in the dough? Virtually anyone can do this with a personal computer and Internet access.

You can also earn money as an affiliate by Promoting Ebay and driving traffic to their web site using banners or a search box on your web site. Here is an example.

Whether you knew it or not, you can sell things on Ebay for the price you choose. While this doesn't guarantee a sale, some items bid up quite high simply due to the fact that they're no longer manufactured and difficult to attain. Then again, another great aspect of this grand website is the notion that you can become a seller even if you do not have products of your own. This is actually what so many people love about Ebay. You can purchase a bulk supply of products at a low cost and then proceed to sell these things on Ebay for a higher price. This is a wonderful way to make money. Even if you make a small portion off of each item sold, this can add up to a great deal of money, depending upon how many products you routinely sell on the website.

In regards to how much you should charge, this is really up to you. Think about the products you're attempting to sell. Are there any other ones listed on the website that are the same or similar? How much are others charging for these goods? This can give you an idea of how much to start your bidding at or even a cut off point. One thing you should always keep in mind when you sell things on Ebay is that if you do not set a specific high price that the product must sell for, then it will sell at whatever the highest bid is, regardless of whether it's what you wanted or not. Selling Skills

A lot of sales gurus tend to think of selling skills as a science nowadays. They believe that sales techniques can be reduced to a number of principle that are invariable from person to person. I have always viewed sales as more of an art. Sure, there are certain professional skills that everyone has to develop. You need to understand talking to people, making a pitch, adjusting your technique to deal with a stubborn customer, and skillfully negotiating an end deal, but there are many different ways to go about it. The important thing is to find what works for you personally.

For most people, learning selling skills starts with assessing their own personal strengths and weaknesses and finding the perfect approach for them. A lot of salespeople are unaware of their own personal strengths. They are so used to putting on a salesman persona when going into the job that they don't understand that their own personality can be the greatest asset. Being able to relate to the customer demands being able to emotionally engage with him or her. No selling skill in the world can make a for genuine personality. Learn to use yours and you will increase your sales overnight.

That is not to say that there aren't specific selling skills that are independent of personality. One of the most basic ones is learning how to control the turf. You have to be able to make the customer yours. For the duration of your sales pitch, he or she cannot even think about leaving. If possible, you should make it hard for the customer to think about leaving afterward as well. You do this by creating a warm and friendly, yet dominant personality, by controlling the space, and by certain tricks that are specific to the sales pitch you're giving. If you get a customer to hold on to a clipboard, for example, or to listen to your pitch while in the corner of a room away from the door, you will be able to hold his or her attention for longer. Knowing your terrain can help, but the most important thing is to have a wide array of techniques to call on when you need them.

Of course, some of the skills that you need are specific to your area of expertise. I know a little bit more about real estate selling skills because most of my background is in that field, and I can tell that some of them wouldn't translate well to car sales, for example. The most important thing is to always experiment and to learn what helps you to make a sale in the market you're involved in.

Passive residual income

Want to make money while you sleep? Passive residual income is the answer!

Most of us are stuck in a 9 to 5 job, paid a salary or compensated by the hour. Like clockwork, whether it’s weekly or bi-monthly, you get your paycheck and that’s that. This is the poster child of a fixed income. Unless you get overtime, a raise or a yearly bonus, your paycheck remains unchanged. Your expenses continue to rise. This picture can get old, fast. How can you change this scenario for the betterment of your lifestyle? There is one excellent remedy. It’s called passive residual income.

Passive residual income is income which is generated by one effort, returning dollars to you, over and over again, without any further time or effort on your part. Hey, that sounds good! How can you accomplish this? A good place to start is at my Home Income Portal.

When you go to work in a factory, for example, you perform certain tasks and are paid according to the number of hours you invested in performing the task. Tomorrow, you return to work and perform the very same tasks. The tasks you performed yesterday have been paid for and are reflected in your paycheck. You won’t be paid again for yesterday’s efforts.
On the other hand, passive residual income puts money in your bank account day after day and month after month, for work you performed only once. Sounds good! How do you get on this train?

Let’s say you’re a dog fancier and have come up with an idea for a dog collar that protects your pooch from every pest in a dog’s life. You patent your idea, manufacture the collar and then sell millions of them. Do you need to re-invent the collar? No. Are you paid for your efforts millions of times? Yes. This is passive residual income.

Maybe you know every folk remedy to cure your dog of ailments the vet calls hopeless. Write a book and let the world know your secrets. You write the booklet once and sell thousands of copies to dog lovers and vets alike. You write the booklet once, but are paid over and over for your knowledge. This is passive residual income. As you sleep, you’ve got orders coming in and money flowing into your bank account. A prospect like this can’t be beat.

The point is that you may have talents and avenues of income which are simply lying fallow. Make a list of things you know which might be of value to the public. You might be surprised at what you have to offer the world and what you might gain in return. Passive residual income is nothing to sneeze at! Get your passive residual income sites now!

If you are anything like me, you love the idea of a great looking web site, but that is about as far as you can go. You need something that looks amazing, but you have problems with computer programming, and you simply don’t have the time to learn it and then perfect it. This is when you may just want to give up your web site ideas because it just seems impossible. However, what you might not know is that you can find web design templates that are easy to use and will always give you a really great looking web site when you are done.

You may have to pay for good web design templates, but they are going to be worth the money. They are also cheap in comparison to paying someone to build your site from scratch and then to do maintenance and updates all of the time. When you really get serious about a web site, you can’t leave it sit as it is for too long. You always want to have something new for your visitors. If you are using simple web design templates, you can do this one your own, and you can do it rather quickly. It is all up to you and how much time you have to put into the project.

You should be on the look out for web design templates that look good, but that are also very user friendly. If you can find one that is WYSIWYG, you have found a great program. Those initials stand for ‘what you see is what you get’ and they are very simple for almost anyone to use. These web design templates are pretty much cut and paste, and should stay looking good no matter what you end up doing to them. If you are not dealing with WYSIWYG, you may mess everything up with a few clicks of the mouse.

You may have to do some searching to find web design templates that work well with your level of experience and that have the look you want. You can find many already done, and you simply have to pay for it. Other times, you may have to have someone build it for you, but again, buying a custom web design template is going to be much cheaper than having someone build your entire site. Take your time to find the right one for you, and then play around to see what it can do. Anyone can have a great looking web site these days, and these templates are the main reason why that is possible.

Here is another way. Get 106 web sites already designed and ready to do business.
