I recently started a home business that relies heavily on sales volume to generate profits. It's one thing to put together a bunch of random names and addresses to sell to an unsuspecting marketer, but quite another to come up with a list of consumers that actually want more information about certain products and services. The last thing I need is to waste hours upon hours sending out materials to people who won't even glance through them because they didn't ask for the information. When I deal with interested prospects, my job obviously becomes a whole lot easier!
My advice to you basically boils down to this: it's worth paying a bit extra for valuable direct mailing lists that contain the segmented consumer information that you're after. Whether you're targeting homeowners, consumers, credit card seekers, or insurance applicants, using qualified leads always pays off in the end!
